About Valleycrest

Established prior to the 2014 swimming season, the Valleycrest Aquatic Association works in partnership with the Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro to provide an aquatics program at the newly constructed Valleycrest Pool located at 4590 des Cageux, in Pierrefonds-Roxboro.

Valleycrest Aquatic Association is one of six pools belonging to the Pierrefonds Aquatic Association and one of 20 pools (in 2014) belonging to the Northshore Aquatic Association (NAA).

Located on the southeast corner of Grier Park. We share this green space with St. Anthony’s Elementary School, the neighboring Pierrefonds Soccer Association, an artificial turf soccer field, a baseball diamond, outdoor street hockey court, tennis courts, three playgrounds, as well as ample street and lot parking.

History

The original Valleycrest Swimming Club was established as a private, non-profit organisation that was the hub of summer activities in our community since its opening in July 1974.

Surrounded by cornfields and woods at the end of rue Grier, Valleycrest was a summer club for about one hundred families until 1986. That year, boul des Cageux was opened and since then, homes have been built to the North, West and South of the pool and the park.

As the community grew around Valleycrest, so too did the membership. In 1994, shares were expanded to cover 250 families, and in 2003 an additional expansion to 330 families was made. Around 1000 public day passes were issued each year. Valleycrest also offers services to numerous summer day camps from our community.

In late 2012, shareholders voted in favour of entering an agreement with Ville de Montreal, and the borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro to transfer ownership of all shares and the land to the city in exchange for construction of a brand new, state of the art facility.
