Guards’ Lip-Synch Throw-Down!
Our Valleycrest guards are organizing a lip-synching competition – girls against the boys! Come watch our Valleycrest guards battle it out… Kids and parents… Be there for our guards, who kept us all safe this summer. We can all vote with our vocal chords… (I’m sure…) Be there or be square! ;-) Risto Klint Due to the hot weather… We are pushing up the schedule by 2 hours. The pool schedule for the remainder of the season will be as follows: Tue Aug 18 — 14:00-21:00 Wed Aug 19 — 12:00-19:00 Sat Aug 22 — 12:00-21:00 The last week is as follows: Moday-Friday Aug 24-28 — 15:00-19:00 Final day of the pool season is Aug 30th. Congratulations to our 14 and Under girls for winning the N.A.A. Championship this morning. The Valleycrest 16 and Under girls also finished off the season strongly, with a bronze medal in the finals! The Valleycrest 14 and Under girls also took home the Bronze medal at the Quebec Games earlier this season. A big hand from everyone – spectacular performances! Risto Klint Our Valleycrest diving team had an astonishing year! The diving team won the ‘A’ Division in stellar fashion - winning all diving meets with crushing margins. Amazing work by everyone! Congratulations! In the diving finals, Valleycrest was represented by Connor and Amelie - both of our divers did great! Results from the finals: Connor Cunningham – Gold (Juniors) Amelie Labarre – 6th. (Intermidiates) Below you will find some pictures from the finals. Risto Klint The weather finally cooperated this summer and we had a great evening with a big turnout at Valleycrest’s Greek Night. The food and cooking was spectacular and the dancing… well… I tried my best… I big thank you to Spectra Oil, Alpha Meats, Salanina Foods, Defidis Foods, Miron Distributor and last but not least - Louis Stafalakis of La Belle Province Kirkland! Thank you Mr. Stafalakis for help making this a great community experience. We look forward to seeing you again next year, and growing our Greek Night even bigger!

Our Valleycrest Synchro girls have worked hard all season, and after the prelims yesterday, have postitioned themselves nicely for the Junior Synchro meet at BRI on August 10, followed by the Senior Synchro meet at Valleycrest on August 12. The VYC Synchro pre-Juniors will also be competing on August 3rd. at PPK. Come out and support Valleycrest!

Risto Klint Valleycrest 2009 Summer Swim Meet Champions On Saturday July 18th, Valleycrest swimmers showed everyone, which pool has the fastest summer swimmers in the Northshore Aquatic Association, by winning the big Summer Swimmers Championship Meet, encompassing all 19 pools of the N.A.A. Overall, it was a fun meet. Kids and adults alike had a great time. The GLE announcer gets my personal A+ stamp of approval. Very nicely done! The only thing missing for us visitors were a few points, and some kind of sustenance…
Risto Klint Reminder VYC @ TMR - July 22nd. Our 4th Swim Meet is against T.M.R. (at the TMR pool). Due to the distance from our home pool the committee has organized a bus to transport our swimmers to the meet, and drop them off at the McDonalds’ on St-Charles in Kirkland. Cost per child is $2 and there is a maximum of 44 places. If your child would like a spot on the bus, please give his/her name to Jordan as soon as possible. Seats will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. If your child is taking the bus, please meet at Valleycrest at 4:00 PM - better still, aim for 3:45 just to be on the safe side. Thank You! On Friday, July 10th, Valleycrest Pool hosted the HITS 94.7 FM radio station in concert with a fund raiser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Our young swimmers achieved the goal of raising $500.00 for the Foundation, before a cheering crowd and dignitaries from the Borrough of Pierrefonds. That’s the Valleycrest spirit! Vendredi le 10 Juillet, la piscine Valleycrest accueillait la station radio HITS 94.7 FM pour une levée de fonds au profit de la Fondation des Maladies du Coeur. Nos jeunes nageurs ont mis tous les efforts pour atteindre notre objectif de 500$, en présence de dignitaires de la Municipalité de Pierrefonds. Quel excellent exemple de l’esprit de Valleycrest! Friday July 10th is the Heart & Stroke Foundation event, which will be taking place at
HITS 94.7FM will be on location, pumping out music and entertainment with a live remote broadcast - they’ll be speaking with honoured invitees, guests and participants… come visit the HITS 94.7 FM tent and thank them for their participation in this unique event… they always bring special prizes (some very cool stuff like Frisbees, Lanyards/key chain holders, Beach Balls, Water bottles, T-shirts and more) And we can’t forget to take care of our excellent Lifeguards: Subway has accepted to keep them healthy with selected sandwiches for this special event. Let’s all plan to be there!
