That’s it for the 2013 swim season… The guards blew the final whistle on Sunday at 9:00pm and absolutely no one from the crowd of members who came down for those last few hours of swimming was in a hurry to get out of the pool. What a fantastic day – and way – to end the season!
We have tons of photos and videos still left to come so check back often. Don’t forget to “Like” Valleycrest pool on Facebook so you can stay in touch and be the first to find out about news and events!
And not only is this the end of the 39th season for Valleycrest, but it is the end for Valleycrest Pool as we know it. In the coming weeks work will begin on our new pool and facilities. We can’t wait to share news as well as photos of the progress with you. Here’s to the future!
It’s hard to believe that this is the last week that the pool will be open for the season. This Saturday, August 24th, we have a Fun Day planned as well as our Awards Night celebration.
Starting at noon the pool opens and we have a “Rubber Ducky swim”, then an afternoon filled with crazy games, and demos from our amazing Synchro, diving, and Waterpolo teams. Make sure you’re hungry because at around 5:00pm we’ll have a corn roast for all members.
The Awards Night event starts at 6:30pm. We are looking forward to seeing you there to celebrate our talented young athletes, recognizing our volunteer of the year, thanking our fantastic staff for another wonderful summer, then to sit back and enjoy a slideshow looking back at what a great summer this has been.
***Please note that the pool closes for free swim at 5:30pm on the 24th, for the Awards Night event.***
The end of summer is quickly approaching and the Snack Shack has a lot of inventory left to clear out. Come by and check out the specials. Treat yourself and your friends to some yummy snacks and candy, but please eat responsibly! (you know… just in case your mother is watching)
On Saturday, August 17th we’ll be holding a “Final Farewell BBQ” to commemorate 39 incredible years for Valleycrest. Come relax by the pool and enjoy each others company while having those last tasty hamburgers and hotdogs fresh off the grill! The grill opens at 5:00pm.
Congratulations to all our VYC Vipers, you put up a good fight this summer in Division A and we are very proud of each and everyone of you. Unfortunately, we didn’t quite make the cut to continue in Division A and we will be returning to Division B in 2014.
Special thanks to all our VYC Officials who came out over the summer, swim meets would not happen without you. Also a big thank you to Gina Arella for representing VYC at Big Meet today. Last but not least to our Swim Team Coaches you are awesome and thank you from all the VYC Vipers and their parents.
We have pictures in the photo gallery, as well as on the NAA website. If you have photos you’d like to share, please email them to email@example.com.
The day was perfect this past Saturday for VYC to host the 2013 NAA A-Division Time Trials. It was a full morning of fantastic swimming as our talented young athletes gave it their all to place in the upcoming Big Meet. Special thanks go out to our VYC staff who were there early in the morning making sure the pool was in top shape for the big day, and to all of the volunteers who made everything else possible… from timing to feeding the crowds!
Photos from the day can be found in the gallery, and as usual you’re invited to share your great shots by emailing them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
NAA results can be found here. Congratulations to all swimmers who qualified, and especially to our VYC Vipers that will be representing us next Saturday at the NAA Big Meet!
It has been rumoured that VYC members know how to party, and those rumours have been confirmed! Once again, the weather gave us a perfect evening (no thunderstorm for those that fondly remember that party). It was a fantastic evening of great company, mouth watering steaks from Madisons New York Grill & Bar DDO, and a lot of dancing!
Special guests included Pierrefonds-Roxboro Borough mayor Monique Worth, councilors Jim Beis and Catherine Clément-Talbot, and Lac Saint-Louis MP Francis Scarpaleggia. Our guests, along with VYC President Steve Sideris, treated all in attendance to the unveiling of the plans for the NEW pool and buildings for Valleycrest.
We know what you’re looking for… pictures from the party can be found in the photo gallery. If you have any pictures you’d like to share, please email them to email@example.com or share them on our Facebook page!
