2013 Registration Day, Cleanup Day, and Meet The Guards! (UPDATED)

Our annual cleanup day will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 8:00am until noon. Please bring your rakes and brooms, we’ll provide the coffee and the doughnuts.

Your 2013 lifeguard staff will also be on hand to help out and to introduce themselves. They can answer your questions and discuss activities for our youth members (swim lessons, swim team, diving, water polo, synchro). Sign up for lessons and teams… Try something new, everyone is welcome!

We’ll also be taking registrations and payments for the 2013 season. Please bring updated photos of your family members that are included in your registration.

VYC Pool AGM May 8, 2013

Valleycrest Pool will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday, May 8th at 7:00pm. The meeting will take place inside the Pierrefonds Soccer Association chalet, right next door to the pool at 4600 rue Des Cageux.

We strongly encourage ALL MEMBERS to attend as there will be items on the agenda that may require your voting/approval. We hope to also be able to provide some updates regarding the pool and the upcoming season.

*Veuillez noter que vous devez avoir complété la clinique de chronométreur (niveau 1) afin de pouvoir assister à ces cliniques.

Clerk of Course* – Saturday April 6 – 9:00am to 11:00am
Recorder* – Saturday April 6 – 11:00am to 1:00pm
Starter* – Saturday April 6 – 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Finish Judge/Electronics* – Saturday April 6 – 3:00pm to 5:00pm

*Please note that you must have completed the timer clinic (level 1) in order to take these clinics.

Results of Special General Meeting for Shareholders – November 7, 2012

At the Special General Meeting for Shareholders held on November 7, 2012 at 7:00PM, shareholders present voted in favor to adopt the motion read (and previously distributed to shareholders via email) that allows Valleycrest to move forward with the Ville de Montreal for the building of a new aquatic facility. Those present were also given a first look at preliminary plans for the new pool and surrounding buildings.

It was also confirmed that Valleycrest will remain open for the 2013 season, and will also be hosting two NAA events during the summer – the Division A time trials, and the boys Waterpolo semifinals. It’s going to be a great summer!

Special General Meeting for Shareholders – November 7, 2012 7:00PM

A reminder for ALL SHAREHOLDERS that Valleycrest Pool will be holding a Special General Meeting on Wednesday, November 7th, 2012 at 7:00pm. A previous communication was emailed to members that this meeting was to be taking place at the Grier chalet next to the pool, but due to scheduling conflicts this meeting will now be held at Holleuffer Chalet at 75 Charlevoix, in Kirkland (please click on the link for directions from Valleycrest pool).

On November 1st, all shareholders should have also received an email message from our pool president including documents attached for your reference as well as the agenda for this meeting. If you are a shareholder and you have not received this message, please email vycpool@vycpool.com so that we can forward this to you right away.

In an effort to be “green” we will not be providing printed copies of the agenda, or the other documents, the night of the meeting. We encourage you to print your own copies should you wish, or (if you are able to) refer to them on your smartphone, tablet or portable computer.

We Need you for Summer 2013!

Is your child part of Valleycrest Swim team? Would you like to be pool side to see your child compete? or do you or someone you know just love the sport of swimming and would like to offer your time?

Your Valleycrest Vipers, winners of Division B 2012, will be advancing to Division A next year and we need certified officials for our swim meets. Your involvement is essential! We have very limited amount of parents who are trained to officiate the swim meets, leaving our Swim Meet Manager scrambling to find officials. The more people we have trained the the stronger Valleycrest will be, plus the benefits you receive being an official such as having fun working while being in the front row watching your own child compete, making new acquaintances and of course being an official you get food!!

Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to attend free of charge. Upon completion you will be a certified Level 1 Swim Official to fulfill Timer and Safety Official positions and will receive a certification pin from the Federation de Natation du Quebec.

Sanctioned Federation de Natation du Quebec sessions for Level 1 – Timer and Safety Official Training

Saturday, October 20 – Vanier College – 2:00-3:30 or 3:30-5:00

Sunday, October 21 – John Abbot College – 5:00-6:30
